WAURAT

Waurat

I’m Mireille WAURAT, designer and CEO of the WAURAT brand. I was born in Ivory Coast on October 20th and
moved to France when I was very young. My passion for fashion took root at an early age.

I remember creating paper dolls and their outfits as a child, already imbued with the ecological dimension of «Re-
use».

Coming from a modest background and fearing that I wouldn’t have the financial resources to realize my dreams,
I decided as a teenager to study economics and law.
It was in 2016, following a family tragedy, that I made the decision to return to my first love, fashion especially
clothing design.
I began sewing as a self-taught student and then chose to perfect my skills in high school at the age of 26. After
graduating with honors with a vocational diploma, I went on to study at a fashion and design school in Paris,
where I obtained my Fashion designer and pattern maker diploma, with special honors from the jury.
The brand was launched as a tribute to my mother, who left us too soon.
The spirit of my creations is an ode to Ivorian traditions and life.
Composed of a variety of textile. WAURAT is imbued with an ecological dimension and conscientious
workmanship that extends to meticulous finishing.
WAURAT is an invitation to travel, both in a sensory and visually way, whose knowledge and expertise combine
Ivorian traditions and Western modernity.
