Mexican couturier Cecilia Ortiz will make the international debut of her eponymous house with Fashion Week Studio, presenting Where Flowers Died during Paris Fashion Week.
Inspired by the resilience of damaged flowers, the collection explores what happens after rejection, disappointment and unexpected change. A torn petal does not prevent a flower from growing; it simply transforms the way it blooms. Through this metaphor, Ortiz reflects on the human capacity to rebuild, adapt and rediscover hope when dreams take a different course.
Sculptural silhouettes, intricate textile manipulation and organic textures celebrate the female form while revealing the extraordinary craftsmanship behind the collection. Approximately one million Czech glass bugle beads have been individually hand-embroidered across the garments, representing an estimated 2,754 hours of artisanal work.
Both deeply personal and universally resonant, Where Flowers Died marks the arrival of a compelling new voice in Mexican couture.
